Week in Review + Teeny Tiny Things!

Hello to the weekend! Whew! What a week it has been. So busy! I made 4 trips into the big city this week. My car is running on empty..as is my bank account!

My good friend Kristin invited me to go see the show The Last 5 Years which was put on by the Duke City Repretory Theatre. So amazing! I had only ever heard 2 songs from the show. Aw, so good! The two actors were amazing! We went to the opening night so there was a reception after where they had a wedding cake. We got to chat with the actors and crew after. So much fun!

Yesterday we threw my sister Melanie a 30th birthday party. The theme was the 80's-Back to the Childhood. She brought all her awesome Star Wars toys and She-Ra for decorations. My aunt Lori also made this awesome poster for us:

My cousin and I were the only ones to dress up 80's style, but everyone seemed to have a blast. We ate lots of yummy food and danced the night away. So much fun!

One of the librarians brought me these blue legwarmers cause I misplaced mine. I cut up an old American Eagle hoodie and my hair and makeup was pretty 80's-tastic but by this point in the night, I'd danced it all off! haha!

And without further ado, here are some teeny tiny things for your viewing pleasure!

I bought these cute little railroad model odds 'n ends at a local thrift/antique store. A big ol' bag for $8! What a steal!

Welp, that's all I have for this photo attack blog post! Hope you're having a great weekend!

Jess LC {Design Your Look}

Here is my entry for the Jess LC contest. It's my first time using any of the templates, but I think it came out pretty cute. I was going for London-y girl-about-town look. Even if I don't win {but fingers crossed} I definitely want to get some pieces from the shop. So many cute pieces! I think these would make perfect gifts.

Hello/Goodbye

A little photographic evidence of another week fully lived in the life of Heather. And let me tell you, what a week it has been! Not only was I helping over at the museum for our new exhibit opening today, but my insomnia was rearing with a vengeance! I have officially entered zombie territory where I stare blankly at nothing and all that's running through my head is "Sleepzzzzzz..."

Plus side: I have been super productive!
Negative side: I can't even imagine what the long term (4 years and counting...) sleep deprivation once a month is doing to me...

On a happier note, I'm gonna stop by sbux and say hello to my friends. Get me some tea. Ooh! Maybe a soy London fog. That sounds yummy!

 Picture This:

-The BEST mac 'n cheese this side of the Rio Grande! {Flying Star Cafe}

Hope your weekend is splendidly lovely!

Running On Empty

I am beyond tired. My batteries have completely run out. I'm like a robot that just shuts down mid task. (However, apparently I have enough energy to blog..?) I scarfed down some food, including chicken! (Even though it's Friday during Lent, but I really, really needed some hardy protein stat).

I asked my sister to take a picture of my t-shirt cause I wanted to post a tweet pic to Simon Pegg cause he features his friend Brian's t-shirts. I thought he might like it. You can't tell but I have my hair in faux hawk. I'll have to show you it sometime. So fun! And adds a little edge to an otherwise boring day.

I got my Nerd-a-saurus t-shirt at Buffalo Exchange yesterday for $6. I just love it so!

Okay, off I go for a nap...hopefully!

Hello Sleep City

I took my camera to work today and snapped a bunch of shots of our new exhibit. The steam locomotive guy came in and set up this huge model train set. And of course I was in heaven what with my love for teeny tiny things.

When I got home my sister Angelica had the most yummy lasagna meal all prepared. I ate about 7 pieces of perfectly crunchy garlic bread, 2 servings of lasagna and 2 servings of roasted beet mixed green salad with walnuts and balsamic vinaigrette.

After helping with the dishes and 2 glasses of Relax Riesling, I went outside and snapped a few shots. Jackie took a pic of my messy hair in the sunset. And that last pic of Jackie and Quickly is my absolute favorite of the day! I love that they're matching!

Hope your week is going well. I'm on my massive insomnia kick but I got my Ambien refill today so hello sleep city tonight!

Gimme Gimme

As tends to happen when I'm in my insomnia phase, I'm filled with creative energy, happy thoughts and the need to reach out to all and connect. Which would explain the onslaught in my twitter and facebook feeds. I really should give my friends and family a warning so that they can hide me for a couple of days as to not be attacked by song lyrics and youtube videos.

I've been feeling really homesick for the theatre lately. Maybe it's with spring now here, makes one long for renewal and that recharge of a new season.

When we got locked out of the theatre and were waiting on the crew member who had the keys.

I've been combing youtube for musical clips. (Netflix has a sad, little amount of musicals available for instant watch). I did stumble upon Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog and man it just made me so happy. And terribly nostalgic. I'm longing for my theatre peeps.

To put on a show. Starting with the read-thru on like, a Thursday night, all sitting around in chairs in the black box theatre or the classroom, pencils in hand ready to take down a quick little note of first impressions. The first days of putting the show on it's feet and taking numerous blocking notes. The 2nd week in when you start getting really familiar with your script and the pages have smudges. The costume fittings, the start of tech involvement when props are starting to trickle in and you see the lighting and set people doing their very awesome designy things. The smell of saw dust as the framework starts to take shape. The sound of the sewing machines as the costume crew hems pants. The dry tech rehearsal from hell where things are slow moving but fun to volunteer to walk for your best friends as they help you find your perfect light. The wet tech that lasts 65 hours and you sit in the green room losing your mind and not really caring cause you're doing something that you love with people that you respect. Dress rehearsal where you enter through the stage door and check in. The smell of makeup and hairspray. Your costume hanging in the dressing room with your name labeling everything. Opening night where you have all this excited, nervous energy to finally just do this thing. Photo call where you animate! After show late night dinner at crumby, awesome dives, consuming way too much greasy, yummy food that just hits the spot. Closing night with the thrill and rush of having put on a good show. The cast and crew party where you get smashed cause you've earned some silliness.

I miss it all.

I love it all.

Teeny Tiny Things Sunday

Today for Teeny Tiny Things Sunday we have the super cute Baby Violin. One of my co-workers got it for me for my birthday last year. I printed out the sheet music at work--and it's actually real {shrunken} violin music too!

I found this grassy little patch in the new spring grass. {Happy Spring by the by!} I'm so freakin' excited for the new season. Although, now we have to suffer through crazy spring winds. I am looking forward to spring showers though. I love me some rain! I even have some awesome red rain boots that I bought last spring so I'm all ready to go splashing through some rain puddles.

In other news, I reached my 400th tweet! My friend Jamie and my sister Hilary are absolutely to blame for my twitter addiction. A great way to commemorate the big event was that Hil, Mel and I asked Judd Apatow a question and he totally replied! It's ridiculous how excited we were. Like, really silly excited. We even high 5'd. {We asked him what his first compact disc was: Steely Dan}

Today looks like it's gonna be a great lazy day Sunday. The sisters and I watched some My So-Called Life and are about to start an AbFab marathon. Hope your Sunday is off to a great start!
